Health & Safety

Bidfood are committed to providing a safe place to work.  We are all responsible to ensure that procedures are followed which promote safe work practices.  New employees will be provided with induction and ongoing training, though you may want to be familiar with the Health and Safety in Employment Act

Food Safety

Employees will be inducted on Bidfood’s commitment, obligations and procedures to meet the Food Act 2014, the primary legislation for governing food safety in New Zealand.

Driver Licenses

If you are required to drive a truck, it is likely you will be required to acquire a NZ Class 2 licence (or above).  You can find information on getting a NZ driver’s licence here and on the official New Zealand Transport Authority website Driver Licensing in NZ.

If you are required to drive a fork hoist as part of your role, training is provided through an external accredited training provider.

Free unlimited online learning with CampusX and LinkedIn Learning are available and encouraged.

Training & Qualifications

Any training pertaining to your role will be provided by Heineken global.

Within your role, you will also have access to MyHR learning which is powered by SAP where you will be able to manage your own learning and development by completing courses, registering for courses, and viewing policies and resources. Full details will be provided as part of your induction. If you need any specific training relating to your role. Please liaise with your manager.

Db Breweries is committed to providing a workplace that is safe for our employees. On commencement of employment, you will be thoroughly briefed on our Health and Safety policies.

We have our 12 life saving commitments which govern how we keep our workers safe.

  1. Be sober from Drugs and Alcohol

  2. Two hands on the wheel, mind on driving

  3. Wear your seatbelt or full-face helmet.

  4. Drive at the correct speed

  5. Safe use of vehicles and equipment

  6. Follow lock out tag out procedures.

  7. Follow CO2 procedures.

  8. Handle dangerous substances safely.

  9. Follow confined space procedures.

  10. Follow work at height procedures.

  11. Follow hot work procedures.

  12. Follow forklift truck procedures.

All New Employees must complete the 12 Life Saving commitments training which goes into detail each commitment and why it is important to complete this.
